Knowledge Center for Investors to Make Better Investing Decisions

  • Welcome to InvestingDIY.com! Most investors have an investment in brokerage, IRA, or 401k accounts. It is critical to understand investment fees, evaluate alternative better choices, and maintain a suitable asset allocation for achieving your long-term saving and growth goal.
  • Here investors are welcome to ask the most difficult investment-related questions, study government rules and investing principles, gain knowledge about their retirement investments, prevent themselves against investment fraud, and learn how to evaluate their advisors.
  • Investor protection is critical. Our mission is to educate and empower individual investors as they face important choices in saving and investing.
  • Through American Financial & Investment Education Alliance (AFIEA), our goal is to help investors gradually learn four steps of the successful investing process:
Step 1 - How to assess the changing market conditions for dynamic asset allocation
Step 2 - How to make an unbiased assessment for your risk tolerance level
Step 3 - How to calculate the Calmar-Yang ratio for return/risk evaluation
Step 4 - How to select the right benchmark and implement the optimized portfolio Theme-based benchmarks

Understand Wall Street's Conflict of Interest [1]
While many advisors act in their customers' best interest, not everyone is legally obligated to do so. Many investment professionals, consultants, brokers, insurance agents, and other advisors operate within compensation structures that are misaligned with their customers' interests and often create strong incentives to steer customers into particular investment products.

These conflicts of interest do not always have to disclose. Advisors have limited liability under federal pension law for any harms resulting from the advice they provide to plan sponsors and retirement investors. These harms include the loss of billions of dollars a year for investors, especially true for endowment funds, pension plans, retirement investors in the form of higher fees, eroded plans, and investment underperformance. [2] [3] [4]

We believe that the best way for investors to prevent the conflict of interest damage is to empower themselves. You, investors, can then act as your assets' "fiduciary" and put your own best interest before Wall Street's profits.
